About Jennifer
Jennifer Levin (pronouns: they/them) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon. Jennifer received a Bachelors of Science Degree and Masters of Social Work Degree from the Stony Brook School of Social Welfare in Stony Brook, NY. Aligning with her school’s focus, Jennifer is passionate about looking at the whole picture when treating a client. They take into consideration their client’s role in the many systems in their life as well as society as a whole. They are an advocate for social justice and seeks to support oppressed groups of peoples according to their narrative, experience, and defined needs. Jennifer has practiced in a variety of settings, allowing them to work with a range of clients from diverse backgrounds. Jennifer is especially passionate about working with children as well as adolescents, and adults who identify as transgender, nonbinary, or gender expansive. Whether a person is coming to therapy to explore their gender identity or expression, address issues related to gender, or simply wants to be in a space where they don't have to educate their therapist on trans* related topics, Jennifer actively strives to create a supportive and affirmative environment.
Jennifer has an eclectic approach to treatment, as they know one size does not fit all. Jennifer looks to her various trainings and life experience to create a safe space for clients to be true to who they are, and work towards the vision they have for their life, whether it be coping with mental illness, improving quality of relationships, seeking spiritual growth, self acceptance, self expression, or any other personal goals her clients bring with them to sessions. Always looking to identify a person’s strengths, Jennifer works together with clients to find hope, and move past perceived limitations. When a person comes in lacking any hope, Jennifer sees it as their duty to see and hold onto hope until the client can share in that vision.
Jennifer is an active member of the National Association for Social Workers (NASW) and The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH)
